The first graduating cohort of EARMA’s European Certificate in Research Management

European Certificate in Research Management

The Certificate is a professional qualification designed to provide individuals with the opportunity to acquire and demonstrate strategic and operational management knowledge, skills and experience. This course is designed for individuals with at least four years of experience in research management and administration, gained in several of the areas covered by the certificate units. Gender and Diversity is one of the mandatory course units.

Mandatory Units:

  1. Developing and Implementing Policy and Strategy
  2. Understanding the International and European Research Environment
  3. Managing and Supporting the Development of a Project Portfolio
  4. Gender and Diversity in Research Management
  5. 5.Working with Management Information

Optional Units:

  1. Identifying New Opportunities for Funding
  2. Managing Legal and Regulatory Requirements
  3. Optimising Unit and Organisational Effectiveness
  4. Supporting the Development and Implementation of Organisational Systems and Processes

European Association of Research Managers and Administrators (EARMA) represents the community of Research Managers and Administrators (RM&As) in Europe. The members work in industry, academia, the public and private sectors. EARMA works with the EU Commission, national and international funding agencies. EARMA provides a networking forum, a learning platform, and a place to share experiences and best practice among RM&As throughout EARMA and in the wider RM&A community.

As a GENOVATE stakeholder EARMA has been supported by Luleå University of Technology in the development of the Gender and Diversity course unit.
