The GENOVATE Community consist of seven GENOVATE partner institutions; the GENOVATE International Advisory Board; key strategic collaborators and stakeholders and the general public. It is a mechanism designed to facilitate meaningful knowledge exchange across the community at local, national and international levels within each of the partner institutions’ countries, across Europe and globally.
GENOVATE-UNINA has participated to the 29th edition of FUTURO REMOTO, a popular Science Festival sponsored by Città della Scienza (a renowned Naples-based Foundation promoting scientific knowledge and public access to science), to give visibility to the GENOVATE project and to women researchers in academia.
For two full days (16-17 October 2015) several young women researchers - most of them already participating in our pilot mentoring program - have had the opportunity to present their work to a large and composite audience. These young women have illustrated their research in the fields of Economics, Physics, and Aerospace Engineering.
At the same time, several members of the GENOVATE team have presented the general features, milestones and objectives of the UNINA project to the public. Special emphasis was given to our pilot Mentoring Program and to the preliminary results of our gender-budget analysis.
Many different people have visited the GENOVATE stand from morning to dusk. Our researchers have been incredibly creative and resourceful when presenting their studies, explainig complex subjects in a language accessible even to the youngest students and visitors. University professors and high-school teachers (and some tourists from abroad too) have also demonstrated vivid curiosity about their research and about the GENOVATE project in general. Some university students have actually asked us to be contacted in case we start another Mentoring Program once the one still in progress will be concluded.
